Introducing Bennett Morrison, Laika’s VP of Product

As Laika’s platform continues to develop new features for our customers and satisfy the expanding needs of the market, our founders decided it was time to hire a new head of product to place at the helm. We’re thrilled to announce, after an earnest search for the best candidate, Bennett Morrison has joined Laika!

Bennett joins our team during a critical period of growth. With a background in customer-driven strategy and customer-centered marketing, his track record of creating solutions delight customers and provide solid business results.

Professional Background

Bennett has deep product experience, with over a decade of award-winning success creating products and leading product strategy. He likes to say that he started working in product before “product” was “Product.” 

His career started in creating textbooks and software for the higher education market. He then attended business school and started working in strategy consulting. During his time working in strategy, Bennett realized that he wanted to create something more lasting than presentation decks. This led to his transition to working at a series of early-stage startups, helping them execute and grow successful products.

Bennett’s software career focuses on a wide range of business-focused SaaS products. He has been the first product hire and grown to lead teams of 20+ product specialists.  From leading product functions at a market-leading security rating platform as well as higher education compliance, Bennett has ample experience to put to work at Laika.

We’re happy to say that this path eventually led Bennett to Laika. He describes his own experience with compliance success. In a previous position, he tackled SOC 2 early on and saw the compliance report assist in landing several major enterprise-level deals.

Bennett understands the importance of having expert-led compliance software and looks forward to strengthening our solution to a cumbersome process. 

About Bennett

Outside his capacity as a product leader at Laika, Bennett is a trivia wiz (ask him about the Museum of Finance). He lives in Brooklyn with his wife, capitalizing on living near BAM by attending live concerts and theater shows.
