Jay Trinckes Joins Laika as Head of Healthcare Programs

As Laika’s offerings continue to expand, our team looks for the best experts in each field to assist our customers on their compliance journeys. We are happy to announce Jay Trinckes joined Laika to help grow our healthcare information security and privacy programs. With decades of experience and three published books on the topic, we know Jay will be a great addition to our team and exceed our customers’ expectations.

Jay’s career started as a law enforcement officer with the Indian Creek Village Public Safety Department in Miami Dade County. During his time with the police department, Jay began learning the automated systems used by law enforcement and became interested in forensics.

After moving to Gainesville, he worked for the Gainesville Police Department and decided he was better fit to pursue other avenues in IT/Security. Moving into cybersecurity was a natural progression, combining his passion for security with technology.

Since diving into cybersecurity and information risk at a corporate credit union, Jay did some consulting work on his own, as well as work with Avanade (a joint venture between Accenture and Microsoft), a technical director at NCC Group, leading HITRUST, HIPAA, and privacy work, and leading a team at Coalfire for healthcare and life sciences.

As Laika builds our healthcare privacy and information security arm, the team looked to fill a leadership gap in our expert services. Jay came to us after a strenuous recruitment process, as the best candidate to influence the way we’re developing automation for our healthcare-focused customers.

With a background in education working as an adjunct professor and literally writing books on the topic, Jay specializes in developing and maintaining 100% secure and private systems.
